The revolutionary Pantone Color Institute celebrates the 25th anniversary of its ‘Colour of the Year’ programme in 2024 with the warm orangey tones of ‘PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz’. Let’s take a closer look at this pastel hue and the inspiration behind its invention.

The Pantone Color Institute changed the world of luxury and everyday material products by creating a patented and universal language of colour. This year’s ‘Colour of the Year’ differs significantly from the flashy Viva Magenta fuchsia – inspired by the dye of cochineal, the most valuable natural dye found on earth – that took home the trophy in 2023. Although part of the pink family, 2024’s Peach Fuzz is a much quieter and softer shade. Sitting somewhere between pink and orange, this velvety colour is inspired by human connections and the good in mankind. Cosy and comforting, this enriching shade is available in various natural precious and semi-precious gems. Padparadscha sapphire, Angel Skin coral, pink opal and moonstone are a few of the rarer gems in this silky orange blush colour, alongside the more readily available morganite, tourmaline and quartz.
