Annoushka presents One of a Kind colour pop earrings:

Transforming unaesthetic raw materials into beautiful and extraordinary jewellery pieces can be a painstaking and complex process. Creativity can be found in people who have a natural gift for seeing beauty in something ordinary and if that person happens to be a jewellery designer, then they would certainly stand out among the rest; as does the British designer, Annoushka Ducas.

Without having had any formal education in design, Annoushka is able to consistently create truly striking jewels. One collection which really highlighted her talent to me is her earring collection titled ‘One of a Kind’. It is in this work where one can appreciate the many years it would have taken the designer to source and ‘marry’ the gems so beautifully in unison.

The model in the picture wears my favourite pair from the collection. When I first saw these during the launch event, it took me some time to understand how Annoushka managed to achieve the shimmering effect of the green tourmaline. Popularly, tourmaline is known for its luscious green colour rather than its scintillation, yet Annoushka has managed to achieve both qualities in these magnificent earrings!

I discovered that the method of this effect lies in a thin layer of Mother of Pearl which is carefully placed under the Tourmaline to give it a very special effect. The fine frame of sparkling diamonds completes the beautiful ensemble. This jewel is unique and some lucky woman will be able to show it off at a glamorous event or by dressing up her jeans during the day.
