Jewellery has become an integral part of any daily look, which has dictated an ongoing trend for fashionable, accessible fine jewellery lines. Looking towards the next season, esteemed luxury houses are enriching their established collections or creating new ones which reflect the trend of everyday gold jewellery, embellished with precious stones in smaller sizes than those on occasion pieces. Names such as De Beers, Fabergé, Dior, David Morris and Buccellati are all offering new jewels in unique versions and different colourways, so let’s see what affordable novelties they have recently introduced.

In keeping with the famous traditions of the house, Fabergé have launched rose gold egg pendants in anticipation of the festive season. Handmade by Fabergé’s skilled craftsmen, and set with either diamonds, emeralds or rich rubies – the pieces will join the ‘Fabergé Favourites’ line. Very much like the holiday gifts which many of these jewels will be given as – each egg-shaped pendant opens to reveal a surprise, a secret miniature present. New pendants are available for full customisation; including the type of precious metal they are made of, the treasure inside, and the gemstone decoration. Engraving is also available, to further customise this unique piece – making it even more appropriate as a festive gift.

Further additions to the ‘Rose Dior’ collection are being added to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Dior Joaillerie; the ‘Rose Dior Pop’ line includes new interpretations of vivid lacquer coloured roses – a signature of the Dior luxury house. The series is comprised exclusively of cocktail rings, all adorned with diamonds and featuring central gemstones matching the rich and bold tones of the lacquer decorated petals. The 18 karat gold shanks mimic the form of natural rose stems, complete with thorns.

Celebrating the cyclical regeneration of the lotus flower, which opens each dawn and closes at nightfall, De Beers has extended the ‘Enchanted Lotus’ collection. Four new jewels have been added to the brand’s signature line including a pendant in two new precious metal colours, and a new bangle design. The two latest versions of the ‘Enchanted Lotus’ pendants feature a reversible design with micro-pavé lotus flower motif on one side and a single round brilliant diamond on reverse. The open-ended bangles either in white or yellow gold showcase both sides of the circular designs embellished with mother-of-pearl.

David Morris recently presented new additions to their ‘Miss Daisy’ fine jewellery collection. Open rings in new gemstone options of pink sapphire, emerald, ruby and blue sapphire are all matched with diamonds and set in white gold. The truly innovative new pieces are the ‘Miss Daisy’ brooch and safety hair pin – both of which have been created in diamonds in white gold. These versatile additions to the line are intended to allow consumers to wear the ‘Miss Daisy’ jewels in a new, original way.

The House of Garrard has enhanced its ‘Wings Embrace’ line with new designs – in earrings, pendants and rings the calibre cut pink, yellow sapphires and aquamarine are set within the framework of white, rose or yellow gold angel’s wings. The pale colours of the gemstones offset the light shining through the openwork precious metals, all accented with round diamonds. As a further incentive, during October 2019, 10% of sales made through Garrard’s Albemarle Street flagship will be donated to the breast cancer charity Future Dreams.

Buccellati’s ‘Opera’ collection is celebrating 100 years since the foundation of the house with new versions of the ‘Opera Colour’ pendant. The limited edition line is made up of 14 vibrant models, each one produced in only 100 pieces. Choices of coloured or fluorescent enamels are very playful and vary from striped or pink agate, lavender jade, coral, colored marble, amethyst, howlite, unakite to blue or brown sandstone – with or without diamonds.

New colourways in brighter tones and less conventional materials highlight the ongoing trend for bright and bold jewels, which continues on as we leave summer behind and move into the autumn and winter months.
