Totally Television: A Spotlight on Jewellery at the Emmy Awards 2025
With so many big stars moving into television in the streaming age, the Primetime Emmy Awards have morphed from a small screen-lovers' dream into a big Hollywood affair. At this year's event, 'drop' was the jewellery buzzword, whether in the form of cascading earrings or a sizeable gemstone pendant on a collar necklace. The best jewellery looks of the Emmy Awards 2025 weren't necessarily ostentatious, although actress Jenna Ortega certainly captured attention with her jewel-inspired Givenchy top. Let's dive into some of the most striking jewels of the night, including pieces by Bvlgari, Tiffany & Co., and Pomellato.
A few years ago, we wrote about how jewellery has inspired fashion designers, including golden chain tops by Balmain, oversized gems at Viktor & Rolf and pearl handbags at Simone Rocha. Now, we've got another great example to add to this list… Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega in a sensational Givenchy top inspired by bezel-set gemstones, pearls and diamonds. The crystals cascaded down her body as she walked the red carpet at the Emmy Awards 2025, accentuated by a simple black skirt and a suite of Pomellato jewels. The star wore asymmetric Nudo earrings, one with white topaz and diamonds and the other with London blue topaz and diamonds. She also opted for a diamond-set Nudo ring, a second Nudo ring with prasiolite, and a Nudo bracelet with prasiolite and diamonds, all in 18k rose gold.

Despite this being one of the night's boldest looks, it wasn't the only one to catch our eye. In fact, we were pleasantly surprised by the selection of high jewels on display in Los Angeles on the evening of Sunday, September 14. First, let's turn the spotlight on Lisa Manobal, a member of South Korean girl group Blackpink, who wore a complete parure of Bvlgari Serpenti High Jewellery, including a necklace, bracelet, earrings and ring with oval-shaped garnets, marquise-shaped fancy sapphires, orange garnets, and diamonds, set in 18k yellow gold.
Surprisingly, there was an uptick in the amount of yellow gold on the red carpet as well as a great many pieces with bi-metal finishes. For example, Rashida Jones opted for jewels by Jessica McCormack, including the Asymmetric Diamond Gypset earrings, the 1774 diamond bracelet and a diamond Button Back ring; Scarlett Johansson wore a beautiful pair of De Beers Talisman cocktail earrings set with 21.18 carats of diamonds in 18k yellow gold, and Jennifer Coolidge wore a pair of Hanut Singh golden pearl earrings with contrasting black enamel.

More of the night's best yellow gold and mixed metal looks emerged from the archives of Tiffany & Co., including Selena Gomez in a pair of 2025 Blue Book earrings with more than two carats of unenhanced rubies, alongside a Schlumberger® Stitches ring and a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Vigne ring with diamonds. Actress Meghann Fahy opted for a Tiffany pendant with an 11-carat pear-shaped diamond drop, a pair of drop earrings and a cocktail ring, all with diamonds in 18k yellow gold. More great Tiffany & Co. looks include Chloë Sevigny in a pair of Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Maltese Cross clips, a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Mini Cooper bracelet, and a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Four Leaves ring with a four-carat green tourmaline and diamonds.
Despite this penchant for yellow gold, there were plenty of pure white diamond looks that sparkled on the carpet, such as Kristen Bell's Inner Fire earrings by Bucherer Fine Jewellery, Michelle Monaghan's 5.14 carat diamond Snow Dance earrings by De Beers, Molly Gordon's Tiffany & Co. Archives necklace (1955–1965) in platinum with diamonds, and Sarah Paulson's Serpent Boheme Solarite necklace and diamond ear cuff by Boucheron.

Other stars embraced the trend for drop pendant necklaces, including Sydney Sweeney in 175 carats of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds, Parker Posey in a statement suite of emeralds, aquamarines, morganites, pearl and coral by Sabyasachi, Ruth Negga in diamonds by Messika, and Natasha Rothwell in a sensational emerald and diamond pendant by David Webb.
Finally, let's hear it for the men, who stepped out in some great jewels for television's biggest night of the year. The ever-stylish Colman Domingo chose a crystal-embellished Valentino suit with Boucheron jewellery, Walton Goggins accessorised a plunging neckline with a David Yurman pendant, and Taika Waititi opted for a De Beers Enchanted Lotus brooch with 3.80 carats of diamonds to decorate his lapel. We especially like the Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co. Bird on a Rock brooch worn by actor Tyler James Williams, set with a tanzanite of more than 52 carats, pink sapphires and diamonds in 18k yellow gold and platinum.

If the 2025 Emmy Awards are a gateway to the Academy Awards, SAG Awards and Golden Globes, all of which take place in 2026, then there's definitely reason to be excited. Could this be the start of an 18k yellow gold revival on the red carpet? Are mixed metal finishes the new celebrity look of choice? We will have to wait patiently to find out.
