Lady of the Rings: Journey Through a Neon Fantasy Realm with Katerina Perez
Join me in a woodland landscape where nothing is quite as it seems! In this latest editorial photoshoot, created in collaboration with my friend and photographer, Ksenia Usacheva, we draw inspiration from fantasy novels, statement florals and Blade Runner-style neon colourways to develop our own high jewellery adventure. And let’s not forget the stars of this creative show: a series of sensational and very statement cocktail rings. Let’s turn the page on this epic together…
Florals, fantasy and neon lights aren’t necessarily three things that naturally intertwine, but I think the results of my recent photoshoot with Ksenia Usacheva speak for themselves. My idea was to view cocktail rings through a creative lens, including unusual reflections, lighting effects, strobes, shadows and lightning flashes to counteract the romanticism of flowers. What do you think? Have we succeeded in putting diamond and gem-set rings into a fresh context? By the time this shoot came to a close, I was reminded of the ‘personality potential’ of cocktail rings. They’re big, outlandish, colourful, dynamic, and the perfect way to be expressive, depending on your mood. The pieces included here have their own unique energies that we really tried to tap into through the styling, accessories and editing of the photographs. Now, when I look at the finished shots, I see something that makes me feel powerful and feminine all at the same time. I would be interested to know what you see, my jewellery aficionados!
