Women are the beating heart of Lisa Nik, a colourful, creative and playful fine jewellery brand spearheaded by Lisa Nikfarjam. If you’ve read any of my previous articles, you’ll know that Lisa is a polyglot, a businesswoman, an adventurer, and a mother who believes in the power of women to create their own destinies, all with an impeccable sense of accessorising style! The brand’s latest campaign – In Her Element – translates the fundamentals of earth, air, fire and water into coloured gemstone jewels that are bursting with sapphires, opals and rubellites. Let’s take a closer look at each elemental chapter and see which one suits your sensibilities best.

Back in 2024, I described Lisa Nik as a mood-boosting brand, and I think that continues to hold true. Its pieces are feminine but not diminutive, thereby suiting the woman who wants to look elegant without veering into boring territory. Personally, I’ve always loved the Lisa Nik approach to coloured gemstones, which is abundant, juicy and vibrant. Last year, I wrote about 20 pieces that really caught my eye, including bi-coloured tourmalines, pastel-coloured beryls, mandarin garnets, tanzanites, emeralds, pink tourmalines and aquamarines, among other mineral stars. This kind of variety ensures that every woman can find a piece that speaks to her, allowing a facet of her personality to shine through.

This idea of revealing your inner self through jewellery was something that came up in a conversation I had with Lisa earlier this year at the Centurion Jewelry Show in Tucson, Arizona. The ‘In Her Element’ campaign is all about feeling connected to something bigger and bolder than ourselves, namely the four elements of air, fire, earth and water. “It came from the idea that jewellery has its own energy and character, just like the women who wear it,” Lisa explains. “The campaign celebrates the many dimensions of femininity: strength, fluidity, passion, and grounding.”

The message is about a woman feeling completely herself—confident, intuitive, and powerful—when she wears something that resonates with her personality, Lisa Nikfarjam

Lighter than Air

The first part of the Lisa Nik In Her Element campaign is ‘Air’, which is achieved through an abundance of pink sapphires. Pieces are described as “ethereal, effortless and eternal” with a gentle femininity captured in heart-shaped rings, butterfly motifs and even a delicate hand chain jewel. Within this offering, there are also some striking rings and tennis-style necklaces set with an ombré mix of sapphires, starting in the palest pink hues and gradually intensifying to a bubble-gum hue. The origin of these designs is in the Lisa Nik Rainbow collection that’s bursting with flowers, butterflies, and colourful mineral combinations that remind me of a lovely spring day. Air can be hurricane winds, but in the eyes of Lisa Nik, it’s as soft as a gentle breeze.

Inner Fire

The fire-inspired chapter of In Her Element relies on the beautiful red hues of rubellite and the sparkling fire of colourless diamonds when they hit the light. “We wanted to show how our Diamond Game collection can be styled to express bold layering that is formal or casual depending on the situation,” Lisa explains. Personally, I also feel connected to the fire element through deep orange gems, such as mandarin garnet and fire opal. These are often quite underrated gemstones, but Lisa manages to make even the most daring colours feel wearable. If you are thinking of injecting some more ‘unusual’ colours into your daily jewellery collection, this could be the ideal place to start.

Feeling Grounded

“The earth never paints in one colour.” This is a phrase that Lisa Nik used on Instagram, and it’s such a perfect way to encapsulate not only the vast palette of minerals the brand offers, but also the complexities and uniqueness of the women who wear its jewels. The earth chapter of In Her Element focuses on feeling grounded through green and brown gemstones, set in yellow gold, to embody a connection to the soil, like the feeling of grass between your toes on a warm day! A highlight is the Asymmetric collection, which acknowledges that nature isn’t always perfect and uniform. A little variety really is the spice of life.

Worries Washed Away

Finally, the element of water is evoked through a mixture of boulder opals, ombré sapphires and spirals of diamonds that “shimmer like the surface of a pool at golden hour”. This is a gentle and subtle take on water; rather than riotous rapids and rough seas, Lisa is presenting something more tranquil and contemplative. Butterfly designs appear in this chapter, along with a fabulous array of lagoon tourmalines, aquamarines, blue sapphires and diamonds set in softer, flowing forms. The designs have an organic lightness to them, almost as if they’re moving with a current.

A Perfect Balance

Perhaps you’re drawn to a specific element, but it may be that you want to mix-and-match pieces from multiple elements. That’s what Lisa Nik wants you to find… a balance between strength and softness, colours, shapes, and styles that is personal to you. “Clients are gravitating toward pieces they can wear every day that still feel special,” Lisa tells me. “Examples are delicate diamond necklaces, sculptural rings, and pieces that layer beautifully. Versatility is very important to them.”

Jewellery should feel like an extension of who you are, almost like a personal talisman that reflects your inner element, Lisa Nikfarjam

In Tucson, we also had the chance to discuss 2026 trends, and it seems that love is most definitely in the air. Right now, the brand is witnessing increased demand for romantic, whimsical silhouettes and meaningful shapes, whether that’s hearts, butterflies or flowers. Lisa says: “Heart motifs have become especially popular, yet they have always been a part of my design aesthetic as seen in the heart hidden within my logo where the ‘s’ and ‘a’ meet — they feel joyful and personal rather than overly sentimental.”

Plus, because of the palette of vibrant colours she utilises, Lisa’s heart-shaped rings have a collectable feel to them. Why stop at one pink sapphire heart when you can have a mandarin garnet, a tourmaline, a spinel, a spessartite garnet, a Mexican fire opal and a morganite, among others? Having tried many of these pieces, I can say with absolute certainty that it would be impossible to stop at one.

Looking ahead to the rest of the year, Lisa Nik is focused on developing pieces that feel timeless, expressive and emotional, without losing their wearability. Lisa teased some special projects and collaborations, too, although we may have to wait a little longer to find out about those. In the meantime, the brand will continue to build on the themes of its In Her Element campaign, including introducing fresh gemstone combinations and unexpected shapes.

Perhaps now is a good time to discover the element that’s linked to your star sign for a bit of inspiration? As an April baby under a Taurus sky, I have an affinity for the earth… so I am starting with green tourmalines.
