Back in October 2022, I was delighted to receive an email from Sahak Demirci, the CEO of Swiss fine jeweller and magazine publisher, Sahak, to discuss my life as a jewellery key opinion leader. His questions spanned my career history, professional highlights, thoughts on high jewellery trends and the challenges that jewellers face in the present climate. Now that the article has published, I would like to share the full interview with you here. I hope it allows you get to know me better and experience a small slice of my jewellery universe.
The year 2023 is a milestone for KaterinaPerez.com as it represents my 10-year anniversary as a key opinion leader in this fabulous industry. As some of you may know, I have worked in the jewellery trade for far longer than 10 years, both as a magazine editor and a retail sales professional on London’s Bond Street.

I spend so much time writing about jewellery that it’s strangely difficult to be introspective and write about myself! So, when Sahak magazine invited me to do an interview, I was initially nervous. Katerina Perez With more than 12 years’ experience in the jewellery sector, Katerina’s expert knowledge spans everything from retail sales and management to content creation, including brand building, jewellery writing and styling. Born and raised in St Petersburg, Katerina’s favourite hobby as a child was playing with the treasures in her grandmother's jewellery box, inspiring a lifelong love of jewellery from a very early age. She spent five years in St Petersburg University of Culture and Arts studying not journalism but business studies and languages, and her writing skills have developed as her passion for her favourite subject – jewellery – has grown. This is why her writing comes straight from the heart rather than the pages of a book. Daughter of an entrepreneur mother, Katerina exchanged her retail management job for jewellery writing in 2013 and hasn’t looked back since.
