Law Roach: The Image Architect Behind Zendaya’s Most Memorable Red-Carpet Jewellery Looks

If anyone has raised the bar on what film stars should wear on the red carpet, then it’s stylist Law Roach and his collaborations with Zendaya, for together they have reshaped celebrity styling in the digital age. Roach coined the title “image architect” as what he does for his celebrities, which include Ariana Grande, Celine Dion and, most visibly, Zendaya. He is not simply finding a glamorous dress and sparkling jewels for their appearances but building the story that unfolds with the look.

Roach has worked with Zendaya since 2011 when she was a teenage Disney star (she is now 29 and recently married to her long-time partner, Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland). Their red-carpet collaborations have been headline news, not least the provenance of the Ziwiye 3,000-year-old gold Iranian earrings she wore for the London photocall of Odyssey, but also the David Webb spider brooch she wore to the Shanghai premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, of which more later. It has turned Roach into a cultural force and Zendaya into fashion icon.
