The Butterfly Effect: Graff’s High Jewellery Brooches on Display in Paris
I have been writing about jewellery for long enough to know that certain motifs transcend mere decoration, becoming closer to a signature – a language that a house speaks fluently and without effort. For Graff, that language is the butterfly. The house first introduced the motif in 1975 with a simple diamond pendant, and in the 50 years since, that delicate silhouette has evolved into one of the most recognisable symbols of the British jeweller. Last year marked the golden anniversary of the Graff butterfly, and the house has been celebrating it the only way it knows how: by creating something extraordinary.
Now, in July 2026, during Haute Couture Week in Paris, Graff has unveiled Artistry in Motion, a collection of 12 unique high jewellery brooches that represent the fullest expression of its enduring fascination with butterflies. I attended a viewing near Place Vendôme, in a historical Parisian building with high ceilings and traditional wall mouldings. This regal decor, with 12 separate displays showcasing each butterfly alongside their inspirations, felt like being in a museum where each masterpiece was given its own place to shine. So let’s dive into what I saw.
