For a sensational week in January, the biggest European jewellery houses welcome guests into their Place Vendôme residences to explore their most elevated creations. Of course, this is known as Paris Haute Couture Week, and it’s an opportunity to discover rich storytelling, mega-sized coloured gemstones, fancy-cut diamonds, and innovative techniques. Now that we’ve had a chance to reflect on this year’s festivities, it’s time to select the most outstanding high jewellery creations that stood out amongst a sea of beautiful designs. We’ve narrowed it down to seven favourites, although we couldn’t resist mentioning a few more that we think you will love… 

Strangely enough, the magic ingredient that makes Paris Haute Couture Week so special isn’t extra-large gemstones (although they are certainly impressive), it’s the storytelling. Many designers and jewellery houses can source impressive gemstones and set them in precious metals, but high jewellery is an art form that requires more nuance, more intention, and something that creates an emotional link between the Maison and the potential purchaser. For collectors, it’s the sense of depth and purpose that captures the imagination.
