The term “desert diamonds” was coined by De Beers in late 2025 as part of a wider effort to reframe the appeal of natural diamonds. Used to describe a palette of earthy-toned stones that sit outside the traditional expectations of a diamond, it refers not to a single colour but to a spectrum, ranging from pale sand and honeyed champagne to deeper amber, cognac and brown shades.
