9-to-5: The New Office Jewellery Wardrobe
In honour of the great Dolly Parton and her famous title lyrics for the 1980s classic comedy 9 To 5, we look at just how much (or little) office jewellery has changed from the bold gold cuffs and clip-on earrings of the 1980s – which ironically has been revived in recent seasons – to what is being worn in the office today.
“Tumble outta bed and I stumble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition
And yawn and stretch and try to come to life
Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumping
Out on the street the traffic's jumping
With folks like me on the job from 9 to 5.”
